The Challenge

BTP
Artigo 2 BLOG Case BTP

Brasil Terminal Portuário (BTP) operates in the Port of Santos, considered one of the largest and most modern container logistics complexes in Latin America. The partnership with WayCarbon began in 2024, aiming to build a strategy to convert sustainability into competitive resilience. To this end, the company faced the following challenges: identifying and managing issues that could have a significant impact on the external environment, from the perspective of risks and opportunities; addressing the interests of heterogeneous stakeholders; as well as identifying gaps and boosting team engagement in the ESG agenda.

Our Work

BTP

WayCarbon supported BTP in identifying its material issues, managing sustainability aspects, and mapping strategic actions and recommendations aimed at increasing maturity in these areas. In addition, the company’s first annual sustainability report was structured, assisting in communication with stakeholders. With this information in hand, BTP integrated the recommendations plan into its corporate strategy, creating working groups related to material topics. The work also involved training senior leadership and assisting governance bodies in implementing priority actions.

Results

BTP

As a result of this journey, BTP increased its maturity by consolidating sustainability as a decisive pillar, culminating in the creation of a dedicated Management team and the incorporation of socio-environmental goals into the company’s strategic planning. This operational advancement, enhanced by a Sustainability Report aligned with global best practices, strengthened integration between areas and enabled high-level communication with the market, positioning the company in a structured and transparent manner before its stakeholders.
