What does WayCarbon’s entry into the IFRS Sustainability Alliance represent?
Supporting companies in understanding how to internalize the sustainability agenda into their business strategy is a fundamental part of the work that WayCarbon has been carrying out for 17 years. To strengthen this agenda, we became a global member of the IFRS Sustainability Alliance and accredited as a Solution Provider.
What is the IFRS Sustainability Alliance?
The IFRS Sustainability Alliance is a global membership program for sustainability standards, integrated reporting, and business support. The network combines the <IR> Business Network and the SASB Alliance into a new, broader, and more targeted program to support businesses globally in the face of new ISSB (International Sustainability Standard Board) guidelines.
As a Solution Provider, WayCarbon now has access to exclusive materials, training, and participates in international discussions with the IFRS technical board. In this way, we expand our capacity, tools, methodologies, and operations to support our clients with the integration and application of standards in their strategies.
Sustainability glossary
To contribute to the clarity of reports and the fight against greenwashing, the ISSB created international standards for the disclosure of sustainability information for the financial market, IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) S1 – related to sustainability – and IFRS S2, aimed at climate.
For reporting, companies must understand the risks and opportunities of issues related to the ESG agenda that may affect cash flows. To this end, climate and socio-environmental aspects must be considered in the companies’ strategy, in addition to metrics, goals and transparent governance for the market.
